China is an economic tiger compared to the dismal economic pictures being painted in America and Europe, but China also brutally cracks down on democratic change in its country and other territories like Taiwan and Hong Kong, China is also an ally to some of the worst political nations on the planet , Myanmar/ Burma, Uganda, North Korea, Sudan, they hold sway over Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet and other indigenous peoples in Asia, China is also the worst Polluter in the World, Is China a becoming a "Growing and Present Danger" for the world?

That's not the right place to have an intelligent debate about the place of China, or the US, or other failed states. All you will attract here is a bunch of school yard imbecilities like "my father is stronger than yours and my mother is better than yours"...

no country presents a greater danger to the world than the u.s. the u.s has a long record of invading other nations, not china. the u.s has troops all around the world, not china. the u.s has the largest prisonpoulation per capita than any other nation including china.the u.s has given support to the worst political nations in the world. america has propped up brutal dictators in countries such as iran, nicaragua, chile, cuba, grenada,vietnam, afghanistan, greece, the list goes on and on and on. the u.s forces its will on other nations by economic sanctions and threat of invasion. without the leadership of the chinese communist party, china would still be a backward nation like india. the chinese goverment has brought china from a backward nation to one of the most industrial nations in the world.

They are not a threat to the world.
If they were to defeat the rest of the world, whatever that means, what would it gain them?

They want to come into the 21st century, and bring their standard of living up.
If they destroyed the world that is not like them they would be killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

All economies wax and wane, they never retain their positions for very long.

A short time ago it was Japan and their economy that was a threat to the rest of the world.

and of course the USA has NEVER been aggressive, and never violated human rights, holding people in jail for ten years without due process? What do you call that? Eavesdropping on phone calls,. internet use, monitoring everything US citizens do, being arrested because you said at your gym that Bush was an idiot?

Nothing wrong with any of that - check Amnesty International for human rights violations file AGAINST the USA

And FYI the USA is the worst polluter when you consider the tons of pollution they spew out on a per capita basis, if the USA had half the polultion China has the planet would be dead by now
