I dealt with four side effects from taking Clomid, moodiness, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and headaches. With my first cycle (50mg), I didn't experience anything other than some hot flashes, but maybe a few at the most. Starting with my second cycle (50 mg) I had the hot flashes more often, had moodiness from about day four of taking the pill up until about two weeks after I finished taking Clomid, and dealt with some vaginal dryness. My third through fifth cycles of Clomid were all at 100 mg, and I experienced the hot flashes, moodiness, and vaginal dryness each cycle. I was so moody, I would cry for no reason, and was so impatient and short tempered. My poor husband is afraid to do anything for a good two weeks every cycle! hahahaha

My sixth cycle of Clomid was at 150 mg, and this was the first cycle that I dealt with headaches. Nothing too painful, it was more of a dull headache, and was more an annoyance than anything. I still had the hot flashes, moodiness, and vaginal dryness as well.

I think the worst side effect is the hot flashes. they happen at the most inopportune times I swear! Nothing like sitting and getting all flushed in the face and sweating for nothing! The moodiness can be bad as well, but I can hide that much better from people than the hot flashes. For the vaginal dryness I started using Preseed, a fertility freindly lubricant and it worked really well.

I have not been successfull yet........except for the very first month on Clomid I had a chemical pregnancy. I am now 6 days passed ovulation after my sixth cycle of Clomid and am hoping this is my month!!

Good luck and baby dust!!!

I have heard some stories of women who have had bad side effects, but I personally did not. I remember my ovaries kind of aching, but that was all. I took it 5 times and never ovulated on it...so maybe that's why I didn't have any side effects because it didn't work for me.

I took 3 rounds of Clomid at 100mg I took it from CD 3-7. I got pregnant on my 3rd round :)
My side effects were hot flashes mainly at night, mood swings but only the first month really bad, and headaches. I ovulated on every cycle I took. The 3rd cycle is when I bought an OPK and used it to pinpoint my exact day of ovulation and it worked. I also learned how to read my cervical mucus.

my doc gave me clomiphene to take when I was trying for my 2nd, to help boost ovulation as it was 18 months and nothing. he told me to take it every 2 months. I got pregnant the 2nd month (I only took one round) and I had no side affects. good luck.
