Diflucan and antibiotics?

ok I think I have a yeast infection but it could also be BV. So i had my doc give me Diflucan. I already have flagyl from a previous infection. I was wondering if I could take both at the same time and try to come at it from both angles. Can you take those together?

You really should SEE your doctor and have a swab done to determine exactly what is causing your problems.

My recommendation would be to use the Diflucan first and if you don't have symptom relief, go to the doctor. It is never good to self-medicate with prescription drugs...especially ones you have "left over."

On a side note, it is NEVER wise to not finish out your prescription...especially of antibiotics. The course of treatment is prescribed because the medical community knows exactly how long a particular infection organism takes to be killed off completely. If you don't finish off your antibiotics, you run the risk of helping the organism to become resistant to the drug, making it harder to get rid of when it recurs.
