There are lots of hotels residing in manila. particularly in Roxas Boulevard which is 10 to 15 mins drive from the airport. If you're capable of spending regards on accomodation. i suggest you go to
    -Manila Hotel
    -Makati Shangrila
    -Mandarin Hotel

if youre quite tight in budget well here are some hotels/motels
    -Manila Diamond Hotel
    -ParkView Hotel
    -Ascot Makati
    -Sogo (LOL)
    -Eurotel
Since you guys will be spending your vacation in manila and no beaches issues I would highly suggest that you go in places like

    -Intramuros.
    -Luneta
    -Paco Catholic Church
    -Manila Bay walk
    -Ayala Museum
    -National Museum
and too many to mention... this is were our cultural structures are located.

Philippines is the best as far as shopping malls are concerned
-Mall of asia, one of the 3 most biggest mall in the world.
    -Shangrila Mall
    -Glorietta
    -Greenbelt
    -SM malls
    -Rockwell Powerplant Mall

    during night time
you could probaly go in places like
-Malate, Manila. lots of bar and gig places there.
    -Global city.The Fort
    -Eastwood Libis
    -ABS CBN

    good luck and happy touring.

    Mabuhay!
just for 4 days in manila for shopping and touring? that's not enough!

well you can check in at one of the hotels in MAKATI CITY so you can be near the shopping district.
    1. The New World Rennaissance Hotel
    2. Makati Shangri-La Hotel (these two hotels are right smack in th middle of the mall!)
    3. THe PEninsula Manila
    4. Mandarin Oriental Manila

    as for shopping:
you'll be in makati so AYALA CENTER will be the closest mall to you. that's consisted of the 4 wings of Glorietta and the 4 wings of Greenbelt as well as THe Landmark department store in the middle of Glorietta ad Greenbelt and SM Makati beside glorietta 4

Sm MAKATI & The LANDMARK are big department store. it also have supermarket.

Greenbelt(GB) 1 is the moviehouse, but it also have spa's and other food shops.
GB2 is all about food. it's the restaurant and bar strip
GB3 has the moviehouse, retail shops like lacoste, diesel, calvin klein, as well as other food shops like cafe breton (where they serve very NICE crepes) or CAFE HAVANA (cuban bar where all the foreigners drink and have hubbly and listen to live music) and there's also a small park right in front of GB3
GB4 is the high-end wing with TOD's, Louis Vuitton, Burberry's and gucci

GLORIETTA (1-4) is a very big mall, great for shopping but it has a lot of restaurants (like TGIFridays or tony roma's as well as a food court too)

there's also a big store by Arnaiz Road (walking distance ffrom the mall) called Tesoro's. that's a big filipiniana/souvenir shop (although Landmark & SM [kultura] also have their filipiniana section)

you guys must definitely go to THE FORT in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig and go to BOnifacio High Street(resto's & boutiques) & Serendra(just different restaurants) . it's a new concept of malling. definitely a feast for your eyes! and a bit high-end
you can go to Mall of Asia (by Manila Bay). it's the world's 3rd most biggest mall.

SM Megamall is also big. it's by EDSA. you guys can either go by taxi's (make sure the meter is running. flag down rate is 30 PhP) but you can also go by MRT (theres a station by SM Makati) and when you get down the tram you can already see the MALL (rate from AYala Station to Megamall is around (PhP 12.00 per person)

you can also check out the all you can eat buffet at SPIRA by the SOFITEL HOTEL a bit near MALL OF ASIA. it has a long buffet that you guys might like. there's a dimsum area, a seafood appetizer station, a japanese station, a mediterranean station, an italian station, a grill station, a big dessert station (witn no-sugar-added desserts even!) all fpr around PhP 1700 or less depending when you guys will go (prices vary,, like if it's weekend lunch or weehDAY lunch and prices also vary if it's dinner but weekday lunch is cheapest and it's gonna be the same food)

yo can also go to INTRAMUROS and join the WALKING TOUR. it'll be hisorical tour of some sour as you guys will be guided around where the national hero was jailed, you'll see the fortress, a lot of historical churches and other stuff. the you can take another tour around luneta and they'll even bring you to chinatown on a horse-drawn carriage. but it's a maximum of 2 pax per 'kalesa' (carriage).

HOPE YOU GUYS WILL HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME IN MANILA.
