Anyone else taking clomid?

I was perscribed clomid last month 50 mg. Took it on day 5 to day 10 and by the looks of my charting of my BBT I did not ovulate last month. Also took 6 Ovulation tests , on days 12,14,16,18, 21, and 25. First 2 test results were light pink lines and last 4 were no line present. I do have PCOS. My doctor has now increased my clomid dosage to 100mg. What is the normal dosage for clomid? And What day should I begin taking Ovulation test to insure I catch my most fertile days.

Thank You

I am on Clomid as well, but I take mine days 3-7...I have PCOS too. From my experience, I do OPK's every day, starting with the day my period is gone, and until I am sure I have ovulated. When I am getting closer to a positive OPK, I take them 3 times a day to really detect my ovulation. Please keep in mind, the best time to 'catch the egg' is to have sex the 1-2 days before ovulation, the day of, and the day after, just to cover your bases well. It is not unlikely to ovulate quite late in your cycle, so don't assume it's day 14 like so many believe.
As for normal doses of Clomid, usually they start you at 50 mg, then go to 100, and sometimes up to 150 mg. And taking Clomid does not ensure an ovulation, sadly. Hope that helps! Good Luck!

I am on my second cycle of clomid (perscribed due to unexplained infertility, 50mg cd5-9). New clomid users are usually started off with 50mg, then the dosage can go up in 50mg increments if no ovulation is detected.

I really think you should start testing on day 8 or 9. Test every day. Once you see a light pink detection line, you are possibly close to the surge. You can even test twice a day so you don't miss the surge (this is what I do). It could also be that you missed your surge in your last cycle? And as mentioned before, start trying before ovulation is predicted to occur for your best chances. And my last thought is you could have had a faulty opk test. Its happened to me before when I purchased the generic brands. My surge just would not show, then I'd used another brand (same day or next day) and the surge would be detected!

Good luck and hope you have luck on 100mgs :)

I also was started on 50mg this month. I chart my BBT, and I seems that I didn't ovulate this month. I also have to start 100mg. They say that you are supposed to ovulate 5-9 days after the last dose of clomid. I hope that you get your BFP this cycle, as am I! One thing that I have an issue of right now, is the fact that my nipples have been sore for the last week, could this be a sign? I have not had any AF show up yet, and I am not expecting to see it either. (PCOS, never get it) should I still be starting in 5 days my next bout of clomid?
