How to remove wax stain from couch?

A little while back we had an accident where a lit candle fell on my couch. It has a nice stain where the wax was that is a faded green color. I don't think its wax but a stain that it left behind. Is there anything I can do to remove this stain from my couch???

oxi clean once removed orange crayon stains that had been laundry-dried in. It took a few washes, but they faded almost entirely away. Just test in an inconspicuous spot for color fastness.

If you think there is any wax left, lay a piece of a brown paper bag over the stain and iron on top of the bag. The heat will melt the wax and the bag will absorb it.

Good luck!

try using ice to harden the wax (if it is wax) then peel it off. if its a left over stain from the wax try using woolite.

remove wax by hardening it with ice and peeling it off or scraping it off with a dull knife or something similar. ironing wax just drives it deeper into the fabric, making it harder to remove. furthermore, the heat of the iron will set the green color, making it more permanent.

what is your couch made of? is it a washable fabric? you could use a clothing pretreatment gel and sponge it clean after the product has had a chance to work. another thought is that peroxide removes blue pigments (including the blue portion of green), which could reduce the stain; a pale yellow could be left behind if the stain isn't completely removed. is your couch not a washable fabric? you might have to look into using a dry cleaning fluid.

whatever you do, be sure to test in an inconspicuous spot.

    Hi
There is two ways to remove wax from fabric.

First you will need to do is a test. To do the test put some water, about the size of a quarter on the back edge of the cushion and wipe it with a white towel and let it dry on it’s own.

If you get colour transfer onto the towel it is not safe to clean.
If there is no change in colour and no watermark then it is safe to clean or spot clean.
If there is a watermark but no colour change it is safe to clean only thing is you will need to clean the whole thing. (to stop watermarks) you can not spot clean.

1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting( less chance of damaging the fabric). Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the fabric.

2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the fabric at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. Keep on doing this until the wax is removed.
