What's all this talk about Indigo children? Do you believe in it?

I have taken "the test" that says I am an indigo child. From what I have read, it seems to lack any real foundation on truth. I think its a fraud to sell books or to make people or parents of these type of children to feel special or gifted or to give excuses about why they are the way they are. Any takers?

That seems likely.

The fraud is aimed at parents -- especially mothers -- and takes advantage of their instinct to place their children above everybody else, to make them extraordinary even when they're not.

You know, I looked at this stuff when it first resurfaced - it was called something else in the late 60s, but same general crap.

The idea that the children born in the past 20 years are the ONLY Ones with those attributes is baloney, and I think many parents use it as an excuse to think their kid is special. Fact of the matter is, a LOT of people have those attributes. My kids, myself, my spouse, my parents, my grandparents, cousin, etc, friends - basically ANYONE can have a majority of those attributes without being something special, OR needing extra special treatment.

All sounds like an extension of the "My little angel would never___________(fill in the blanks)" syndrome.

Basically, indigo children are spoiled, feel entitiled, and are ADHD. It's a cute name parents like to use instead of acknowledging that their kids are brats or need medication. There's nothing else to it - no one has any special powers. It's a big fraud, you were correct.

When I was growing up, some of the tell-tale signs of being an "indigo child" were simply called being spoiled. My guess is that just about anyone who takes the test would qualify as an "Indigo". If you post the link for the test, I'll take it and tell the results.
