Does the antibiotic metronidazole (flagyl) interfere with birth control pills or not?
some say yes, some say no... and its confusing

anytime you are put on any kind of medication it will interfere with your birth control.... call any pharmacist and ask them just how badly it can ... it may not be a big enough percentage to worry about

All antibiotics can interfere with birth control. Your AND the pharmacist should have warned you of this.

Any antibiotic interfers with birth control. It will make the birth control less effective.

actually, antibiotics only affect the estrogen component of the bc pill, not the progesterone component. it is the progesterone which prevents pregnancy. as long as she does not miss or take any late pills she should be fine.

Yes, ALL antibiotics do. The doctor that prescribed it and your pharmacists would have told you this.

All antibiotics have risks that interfere with the effectiveness of a birth control pill....which is the reason people tend to get pregnant while on the pill. They're uneducated about it.
