Did anyone dealing with Fairview Financial Services sign a contract? If so, that is leverage in you favour. Use it. I hope all of you kept your receipt from the money transfer. That will also help you as well.

Never heard of them, but there is a generaladvisory warning out there regarding pay up front loans, so I would assume they are a scam and be safe.

I had the same offer today except they wanted $1250 up front and when I said I didn't have it they said I could put down $760 and pay the rest when the check is deposited. She said the check would be in my account within 24 hours. I think it's a scam......I'm not biting.

I hope Im not one of those people who got scammed. As someone with bad credit I needed a loan despartely for my ailing mother, so I did in fact pay for the insurance policy guaranteeing the secured loan. The money is suppose to be in my account today......if its not I will proceed with legal actions. This company is listed with the BBB in Maine. So I thought it sounded ok.

My friend recently sent Fairview Financial Services $400 to secure a loan. They approved it, then denied it and has not returned his money yet. Any ideas of what I should do? Thanks.
********Thanks for your story Jill G. I just went to a site called Rip-Off Report.com and sure enough, Fair View Financial is listed there as being a scam. I am sorry that you and my friend had to go through this. Good luck with your case against them! I will be sure to take your advice about finding out info about the "company". Fairview Financial is a scam! I paid the insurance fee on Friday 7/14 to a Jim Faxton in Canada. They said that my money would be available at 6:00pm that day. It was not there. I left numerous messages and finally someone called me back on Monday saying that the women that I had dealt with was very unprofessional and that she would now be dealing with me. I had to pay another insurance fee because the amount the first lady gave me was wrong. I should of known then. I feel so stupid. But I really needed the money. They said that my money would be available at 5:00pm that day. They also said they would make my first 4 months payments just for the trouble. I totally believed them. Of course the money was not available and of course no one responded to my phone calls. Today I have sent the police to there location and got myself a lawyer. Advise to anyone who is waiting for there money to come today; call from a different phone number and when it asks for your name, give a different name. I did and they answered! Try to get as much info out of them before you contact a lawyer, and record the conversation if you can.

It is a scam. I learned the hard way. The company asked us for 1000 dollars prior to the lending process saying it was an insurance premium. I never got my loan and now every time I call know one answers my calls as if they know it's me. I finally got through to a different teller and she told me I needed to pay 500 dollars more prior to them sending the loan. Don’t worry I did not send that amount to them but I still have not gotten my money back. They said that they would have someone from reimbursement call me to give me my money back and you can believe I still have not gotten my 1000 back. However I have a question too. What steps should I take to follow up or press charges on this company? You can answer this post or you can reach me at my e-mail which is dilyoshi2000@yahoo.com. I would like to take legal actions but don’t know were to start or what to do. Any ideas would be great.

Well at least I know that I am not the only one. I too was desperate for the money and paid $651.99 up front for the insurance premium. I should have known it was to good to be true but I looked them up in the better business bureau and there were no complaints listed. So i also thought that they were a valid company. I also checked there website. I feel so stupid I am now flat broke thanks to these people. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau in Maine as well as with Maine's Financial banking bureau. IF anyone has any other suggestions please email me and let me know. My address is mlz0571@sbcglobal.net Maybe we can get a class action suit and have criminal charges pressed. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB that will be handling my complaint is in Natick, MA. their email address is info@bosbbb.org and their website is http://www.bosbbb.org Here is also my case number 125987 I urge everyone to please file a complaint with the BBB. I did my research and looked the company up on there and because there were no complaints I thought they were legal. I don't want anyone else to have to deal with the crap that I am dealing with. We need to nail these people.

I did all the research possible. Can't find any complaints. I am currently in the process of trying to send the money to them today and yesterday. We sent the money via MoneyGram yesterday and Money Gram held the funds because of various scams in Canada. I tried Western Union today and they told me the same thing. The company is in Maine so I figured, why send the money to Canada? I stopped payment after reading these stories. I asked my rep to fax me the contract and then I asked them to send my check via Fed Ex. Has anyone received the money they were approved for?
